Offshore Subsea Riser Clamps
For decades, riser clamps have been used by the offshore industry as a method to secure auxiliary lines and cables to a central riser pipe. Early riser clamps were constructed out of steel and held in place using bolts.
As risers were deployed into greater depths, it became necessary to address the weight penalty and corrosion associated with traditional steel clamps. It was at this time that polymer-based riser clamps were introduced to save weight and reduce corrosion issues.
Whitefield Plastics offers the next generation of riser clamps that use a blend of proven, lightweight, high-strength materials in a unique combination that takes advantage of the specific strengths of each material in the subsea environment. This innovative and patented design provides the following benefits:
- Reduced part count
- Reduced weight both in air and in water
- Reduced assembly time
- Typically, only one bolt required
- Lightweight and proven materials for the harshest environments
