Polyurethane Bonded Pistons
Polyurethane Pistons
Whitefield Plastics introduced the first bonded on steel dual durometer mud pump piston in the mid-1980s. Over the intervening 30+ years, there has been continuous improvement in chemistry, processes, and design, which has resulted in the ability to produce pistons ranging from the traditional dual durometer piston to single durometer high-temperature high-pressure pistons. Recent improvements include new piston geometry and the integration of high abrasion resistant materials into all piston styles.
Styles of Mud Pistons
- Traditional dual durometer piston (180 – 200F)
- High temperature & high-pressure pistons (280F and 7000+ PSI)
- Bluntnose/bullnose dual durometer pistons
- Single durometer traditional pistons
