Onshore Energy Products

Whitefield Plastics manufactures high performance polyurethane products for onshore energy applications.  Onshore denotes three sectors of energy production: oil, natural gas and wind.  More specifically, for oil and gas, it refers to the search and development of oil fields, gas deposits and geothermal energy on land. In the wind sector, windmills are installed to create wind farms that generate energy.

The onshore extraction of crude oil and geothermal energy necessitate drilling into underground deposits.  The onshore extraction of oil and gas is less elaborate and more cost-effective than offshore processes.  Special methods such as seismic reflection are used for the exploration of crude oil, natural gas and geothermal deposits.

Since 1961, Whitefield Plastics has been leading the way in the design and expansion of cast-able polyurethane molding.  Over time, our state-of-the-art facility and world-class technicians have helped us to build a reputation as one of the leading polyurethane manufacturers for the oil, natural gas and wind industries. Competitive pricing and quality is what sets us apart from our competitors. Parts we produce for offshore energy production include:

Polyurethane Advantages

Polyurethane is a polymer composed of organic units joined by carbamate links. It is an ideal material for onshore and offshore applications due to its characteristics.  Because it can be poured as a liquid mixture it can be cast into complex and unique designs to fit specific jobs.  This also means that it is less expensive to produce. Other advantages include:

  • Extensive Wear
  • Resist Abrasion
  • Operates with Minimum Noise
  • Can be Cast, Molded and Machined
  • Wide Variety of hardness Options
  • Elasticity
  • Solvent Resistance
  • Color Acceptability
  • Resistant to Temperature Changes
  • Low Tooling Costs
  • Electrical Insulator
